I'm not necessarily saying that these films are better horror movies than, say, Rosemary's Baby or Evil Dead 2 (the first two names that came to mind), but they're just ones that they can believe that it might actually happen to them. Seriously though, and this is something that I've said many times, I feel that the horror movies that most resonate with people are those movies that feel like it's something that could happen to them. There would also be a sequel called 1 Meter Down: Instant Death. It'd probably be called 0.5 Meters Down: Fear Personified. In fact, I told this friend, yesterday, that if I was the main character of this movie. I joke around with a friend of mine about my inability to survive for any length of time in the ocean. It's not like I won't go to beaches or anything of the sort, it doesn't go that far, but I just don't go to the beach as often as I probably should considering that I live on a tropical island. It just seems like a practical skill to have, since you never know what can happen, even if I try to stay away from the ocean as much as I can. Obviously, that traumatic experience has kept me from learning how to swim for the rest of my life, though I want to.

In fact, and again, I don't know if I've shared this, but I almost drowned when I was a little kid. I don't know if I may have talked about this in an older review, but I do not know how to swim. I figure I've got nothing else to do, so I might as well get this review out of the way and avoid facing the same issues that I faced with the prior review, where I began writing it 20 minutes prior to starting that night's movie. All the while, however, Conan, Kogorou, and the police search for the one thing far greater than riches-justice.I'm starting this review less than 2 hours after finishing my review for Don't Kill It and less than 40 minutes after finishing this flick. What follows is a mad dash by not only the treasure hunters but also the inhabitants of Koumi to secure Anne and Mary's long lost booty.

The police, following a clue from a recent robbery, arrive soon after, and Koumi is plunged into chaos. Sent on a hunt of their very own, the Detective Boys scour the isle while in far harsher waters, Conan discovers a murder. Following a mix up at the hotel regarding their rooms, the group encounters treasure hunters and becomes acquainted with the island's treasure fever. On a trip to the island, the famous Kogorou Mouri is joined by his daughter Ran, her best friend Sonoko Suzuki, the Detective Boys, and Conan Edogawa. The museum that houses the cutlass and pistol of the daring pirate duo does wonders for the small island's tourism. The luscious hills of Koumi Island are one of many reasons tourists pay its shores a visit-a reason that comes second only to its scenic coral reefs and the legend of Anne Bonnie and Mary Read.
